Lucky Lance Lives Life

Author: Lance Winslow

Have you ever noticed that certain people with certain names have similar personalities? Perhaps you have and perhaps you've read articles or research on this. I have noticed that people with the name Lance seem to live their life with excitement, challenge and often competition. Why does a person's name reflect their personality? Why is it that with some people their name seems to describe them? People with the name of Lance seem to live life and they also seem to be very lucky. Can a name actually makes you lucky?

It seems that if you have a certain type of name that is very common you may be more apt to just be one of the guys. Yet, if you have an unusual name perhaps you will stand out or be treated as unique. If you are treated as unique you may feel as if you are unique and thus develop a stronger sense of self. That is to say you may develop more of a sense of independence and to be less afraid to try new things and take risks, which would make you stand out even more and thus the cycle of people treating you differently and unique is compounded over and over again.

It is hard to say if the name of a person makes that much of a difference, but it seems to and from the social engineering standpoint it does make sense. There have been some studies on these things and often they point to similar hypothesis. It seems rather odd that merely a name could change the way we are. However, it seems to be the case. Please consider this in 2006.
