Make Your Book Sales Go the Extra Mile With a Sales Letter

Author: Earma Brown

Authors all over the world have seen the wisdom in launching a website to sell more books. With varying degrees of success, many wonder what the next step is. To make sure your marketing goes the extra mile of success, write a sales letter and post it on your web site.

Let your prospect's know about your book's benefits and help them visualize how it will help them. Believe it or not there may still be some people that hadn't heard about your insightful book. They missed your book signing and the book tour. They haven't seen it in a catalog nor have they been gifted with it. With a sales letter, you hire a 24/7 salesman that keeps your book alive and selling well for years to come.

You don't have to be a famous copywriter to write effective sales letters. In fact, you have everything it takes to write an order-pulling sales letter for your book. You have the passion, the knowledge of your product (book) and now the sales letter template. Follow these 8 steps to get organized and then write your compelling letter to convince every prospect that your book is the one they want.

1. Create a compelling (must get information) headline

Researchers have proven negative headlines works best. For example, "Stop Making these Site Mistakes Discover 10 Vital Things to Do Right Now" will get the attention of anyone struggling to make sales online using their website. It will make them want to read more. The same goes for "Don't Even Think About Skipping This Page!" People by nature are attracted to the negative. Why do you think the Jerry Springer's show is so popular or even Desperate Housewives. People react to the negative in spite of themselves. It will create a curiosity pull.

2. Develop a list of 10-20 benefits of each product and service.

For example, a client of mine realized her audience didn't just want to know how to get articles written, they wanted to know why should they write them?

So on the home page selling her article writing ebook, she started with a list of good reasons to write short articles to promote: For the serious marketer this ebook explains step by step how to promote your business, build a gigantic Opt-In List, increase your traffic, get qualified links, increase your page rank, grow your affiliate base, become a recognized expert, and collar more sales.

3. Address your prospect's resistances.

One by one a good sales letter will dissolve a prospect's major concerns. Tell a background story where you prospects are so they can connect emotionally with your book's solutions.

4. Supply a overview of the book's features.

You can usually do that with a short table of contents or a short list of features. Your benefits will sell but your features will explain. You need to mention features so your prospects will know what's inside your book. 5. Place testimonials throughout your sales letter.

Most everyone wants to know who else has read your book and liked it. Testimonials speak up for your book. They act as a referral and even an endorsement. The compliments from another customer help melt away your prospect's fears and doubts about buying your book.

If you don't write a sales letter for your book's website, your book may never go the extra mile of success. Your prospects may leave your site vaguely curious as to what your book is about but not enough to buy. Write your compelling sales letter to be your 24/7 mini-salesman that stirs your prospects interest and moves them to buy your insightful book. Sell more books and prosper!
